Yup, snow still there. Actually it put a damper on our ride yesterday. Paul, Dave and I braved the elements and hit the Papio. Started at Paul's house and got all the way past Dodge before hitting the snow. We probably rode a half mile in the white stuff before passing a jogger who said it was covered until well past Center Street. So we hit the streets back to Tranquility, just to take a gander. About 10 miles ridden, not bad for a Saturday ride in mid-February.

Thanks again Dave for providing the map. Funny that you marked the point where you took a fall.

The plowed trail from Blondo St. looked encouraging. Maybe we'll have to hit the gravel north of State St. next time. Thanks for the pictures. It was real good to get outside.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a winter wonderland. Wish I could have made it .
ReplyDeleteIt was a good ride even if it wasn't very long. I marked the crash spot so others would be aware of the tricky technical section on the Big Papio Trail.
ReplyDeleteGood you guys got out! I tried to ride Standing Bear Lake home last Friday and didn't get 50 yards into it and had to turn around. It was worse than the last time I tried before they plowed. About a foot wide path made by walkers. Rough and get on the edge and sink in less packed stuff.
