Cameras for biking

If you know me, I'm one that brings a camera everywhere. Biking, bars, events. Not so much anymore with cell phone camera quality getting better and better. But still it's easy to just pull out a camera, click it on and shoot...while biking... In winter.

Watch what you do with your GPS watch!

Interesting article where police used a GPS enabled watch to prove that a man killed so and so.

Please vote for my picture

Lake Flanagan recently opened and it's a sweet destination for kayaking, biking, fishing, and even flying a drone.

Anyway they are holding a photography contest. Please help me out by clicking the link and voting for me. Can vote daily through August 16. They won't send you spam or anything like that. Thanks!

Photography and Biking

For me,  the two go hand and hand. I love biking and I love taking pics. I just carry a nikon all weather point and shot (no external retracting lens). I've destroyed too many regular point and shoots. The dirt, getting dropped, taking pics with the camera in the snow. None of these help.

Anyway, here's an article by Bicycling mag online. I will have to check out the cameras.

Just when I thought...

I thought I had all the tire sizes down...knew what I wanted. Then comes something new. Kind of. Now comes the 2.6 inch width!? I already ride 3.8-4.0 inch fat. I have 2.2 Conti Race Kings on my FS, and narrower on my other two bikes.

Word is 2.6 will be less squirmy then the 2.8-3.0s. Can't be any worse than my fat! Wait it out? Or just buy?

Good read about carbon,  how it's made, the different strengths, counterfeit versus real, etc. I have yet to own anything carbon. Maybe one day...

Cranksgiving recap

Well I can't give you a recap because I was unable to attend this year.  But from what I've heard, it turned out to be another successful year of food donations. Prizes were to be had, pedals were pedaled, and food was given. And that right there is awesome. Here's a picture of the food I saw at Bike Masters last night.  Great job to all those that volunteered their time both on and off the bike.

I've been looking at 27.5+ bikes for a good two years now. While the options are finally starting to accumulate, the prices unfortunately are still up there.  It's new, it's the newest fad, the bike industry says you should be riding one.  Yeah Yeah Yeah.

Anyway, Salsa Fargo Rival 27.5+ is what I'm wanting.  I already have a fat bike and would like to start riding longer distances, maybe do some of these bike packing trips. This might fill my needs.

No tricks, just dirt!

This Halloween landed on a Monday.  Bummer. Bike or hand out candy.  Bike or hand out candy. BIKE!

We actually had a decent sized group make it out, I guess they were thinking along the same lines as me.

Cranksgiving this Saturday

Once again it's that time of year. Wow it went fast. 11am depart Bike Masters parking lot. get items for donation (Sienna Francis House), return them back to starting point. this is a great time and it's all for a good cause. check with Bike Masters for more details.
